A letter of Authority (LOA) is a document signed by you that allows a third party to liaise with UK Energy Suppliers on your behalf. The document exists to comply with the Data Protection Act (DPA) and prevents third parties from obtaining your business contract information without your permission. It is important to know that signing a letter of authority does not commit you to using that third party in any way it simply allows them access to your industry information which may be necessary in order to provide you with an accurate quotation, and is always required when completing a contract on your behalf.
If you have agreed a contract with BEC it is essential that we receive your signed LOA within 24 hours in order to ensure your agreed contract can be secured.
